FOCUS creates the opportunity for screen sector companies in Scotland to access sector specific business advice and support.The project is delivered byFilm City Futuresin partnership withScottish Documentary Institute, and supported byScreen Scotland.A sector review found that screen business were not always able to access the business development expertise that they need in order to achieve significant growth.FOCUS wants to change this, by supporting screen sector companies to gain access to the sector-specific business development expertise that they need from experts in production, law, HR, book scouting, sales and distribution, and other areas.We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering for events, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our services or otherwise contacting us.

<h3>Will your film or TV production company's PAYE processes be affected by HMRC’s changes to the off-payroll tax rules (IR35) for workers providing services to a private sector company through an intermediary? The changes – aimed at reducing tax evasion – will affect how freelancers are contracted, but how far-reaching will this be?</h3>In this webinar Mark Primrose, an Associate in the Employment Group at Harbottle &amp; Lewis, will discuss the changes to the Off-Payroll Working Rules (also known as IR35) that came into force in 6th April 2021.These changes have increased the number of self-employed coming under the IR35 umbrella, meaning those that work for a company like an employee may have to pay the same level of tax that permanent members of staff pay.Topics will include:<ul><li>How the rules have changed</li><li>Responsibilities of companies engaging people who operate through loan out companies</li><li>Screen sector specific guidance on determining whether someone has deemed employee status</li></ul><h3>About Mark Primrose</h3>Mark is a solicitor at Harbottle &amp; Lewis.
