Bristol Education Partnership is a partnership of 9 schools, St Brendan's Sixth Form College, University of Bristol, UWE Bristol and Bristol City Council. The partnership has been established as a collaboration between partner organisations with the aim of tackling disadvantage, raising aspirations, broadening education and inspiring and supporting staff in member schools.

<h1>Focus on Wellbeing: creating a culture of belonging</h1><h3>with Hannah Wilson of Diverse Ed; Cat Taylor, Mental Health Specialist and Farina Ackerman, Donovan Shand and Kate Smee of Fairfield High School</h3><h3></h3>Staff with responsibility for PSHE and pastoral issues are invited to this event focussing on how to create a culture of belonging for all students and staff.We will be joined by Hannah Wilson of Diverse Educators who will:<ul><li>Reflect on what gives us a sense of belonging</li><li>Review the perception gap between stakeholder groups</li><li>Consider how to create a belonging culture and a belonging curriculum</li><li>Discuss the policies and practices that need to change to increase levels of belonging.</li></ul>Also during the morning there will be the opportunity to discuss:<ul><li>Equalities in the Curriculum: how to plan and deliver sensitive topics</li><li>Strategies to Support Student Transition and Wellbeing</li><li>Tackling School Refusal</li></ul>Join us to share your experiences and to hear from others about how we can create truly inclusive and caring environments for learning, in the broadest sense.Hannah Wilson is a leadership development consultant, coach and trainer. She is the Co-Founder of #WomenEd and the Co-Founder of #DiverseEd. She is passionate about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging; Professional Learning; Mentoring and Coaching. Hannah’s former roles in education include: Head of Secondary Teacher Training; Founding Executive Headteacher; Strategic Lead for a Teaching School Alliance and Professional Learning Lead for a large MAT.Donovan Shand is Transition Lead and Achievement Co-ordinator for Year 7, Fairfield High School.Kate Smee is Director of Humanities, Fairfield High SchoolCat Taylor is a Child Therapist and Young Peoples&#x27; Mental Health SpecialistAudience: Staff from secondary schools in BristolVenue: Fairfield High School, Allfoxton Road BS7 9NLBooking: This session is open to staff at secondary schools within Bristol.
