Foraging for beginners
Overview

Foraging for complete beginners, family-friendly accessible event, open to people of all ages and wheelchair users welcome too.

Come and join us on this family friendly event. We meet in Aberdour at the entrance of the pathway Aberdour - Dalgety Bay (next to 2 Dovecot Park KY30TA, or 3 words happy juggle irrigated https://what3words.com/happy.juggle.irrigated) 7 min walk from Aberdour train station. (train from Edinburgh 10:15am arriving in Aberdour 10:47am)

W e will cover:

* Basics of sustainable foraging (how much are we allowed to forage, what part of the plant can we forage and why)

* Learn about the edible plants from your surroundings and what to do with them (ideally you are a real beginner or if you have been to my walk that you are there as a to enjoy the session as a refresher)

* Learn about the health benefits of some of the foraged plants

* Try something delicious made with the foraged items


* Bring a basket or a bag if you wish to take some samples with you, feel free to take pictures of the plants.


Wear clothes suitable for the weather and comfortable shoes for walking


Every adult can bring one child under 10 for free (but please drop me a msg to let me know)

Baby on arm free as well of course


I will take a picture of the group for our social media channels, please let me know if you prefer not to be included.

50% of the funds raised in this foraging walk will be transferred 100% (minus Eventbrite fees) to the Cerebral Palsy Scotland, which offers support to patients with cerebral palsy and their families through therapy, emotional support and advocacy.
