Unplug and Reconnect: A Forest Bathing Experience in Dover

Escape the digital noise and rediscover your senses in the woodlands of Kent.

Are you feeling the weight of the "always-on" world? Join us for a restorative morning of Forest Bathing. This isn't a hike or a "just a nature walk", it’s a slow, guided immersion designed to help you lower stress, boost your immune system, improve your mood, and reconnect with the natural world right here in Dover.

What to Expect

Unlike a typical walk, Forest Bathing is about the journey, not the destination. Led by an accredited and certified Forest Therapy Practitioner, you will be offered a series of "invitations" to help you slow down and engage with the forest through your senses:

  • Sight: Noticing the fracture of light through the canopy.
  • Sound: Tuning into the rhythm of the wind and birdsong.
  • Scent: Breathing in the calming phytoncides released by the trees.
  • Touch: Feeling the textures of moss, bark, and earth.

We will conclude our session with an (optional) wild-foraged tea ceremony, allowing time for quiet reflection and shared gratitude.

Why Forest Bathing?

Science shows that spending intentional time under a forest canopy can:

  1. Reduce Cortisol: Significantly lowering physiological stress levels.
  2. Boost Immunity: Increasing "Natural Killer" (NK) cells that fight infection and prevent viruses ,coughs and colds and even Cancer
  3. Improve Focus: Clearing "brain fog" and enhancing creativity.

What to Bring

  • Layers: Even on warm days, the forest canopy can be cool.
  • Footwear: Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes or boots.
  • Sitting Mat: A small waterproof cushion , Yoga mat or sit-mat (if you have one).
  • An Open Mind: Leave your phone on "Do Not Disturb" and give yourself the gift of presence.
