South East and Central Essex Mind provides mental health support across Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, Rochford, Castle Point and South Woodham Ferrers. We offer supported housing, counselling services, wellbeing mentoring for young people and signposting for anyone who needs it. We are also a provider of mental health training, education and professional services to schools, businesses and fellow charities in our area.We have a track record of over 50 years of delivering quality mental health services in the area. Although affiliated to national Mind, we are an independent organisation and charity and are responsible for our own funding mental health services in the South East and Central Essex region. Our vision is of a society that promotes and protects good mental health for all and that treats everyone experiencing mental health problems fairly, positively and with respect.

Shoebury East Beach

We are holding this session in the hope of helping those who have been experiencing poor mental health during the pandemic and are looking to improve their wellbeing.We are asking for £10 per person for this session - Your contribution will go towards covering the cost of running the event, allow us to hold more in the future and also help support our charity's vital local mental health services. Thank you.Forest bathing or 'Shinrin-Yoku', is the practice of spending time in nature for better health, happiness and a sense of calm. Although traditionally done in the forest, the mindful sensory exercises and invitations of forest bathing can be applied to anywhere immersed in nature.Your guide will invite you to participate in various activities and exercises all designed to awaken your natural senses and slow down your mind, to bring your awareness to the here and now. The practice can allow space for relaxation, whilst also giving a sense of perspective and a new way to connect with nature and yourself as part of nature.Join us at East Beach, Shoeburyness to explore the trees, plants, flowers along the coast as well as embracing the sounds and smells of the sea just as the sun rises and the birds begin to sing.South East and Central Essex Mind is your local mental health charity covering Castle Point, Chelmsford, Rochford, Southend-on-Sea and South Woodam Ferrers. Although affiliated to national Mind, we are an independent organisation and separately registered charity, and do not recieve funding from them to run our services.
