Forest Bathing with Dr Malcom Kerr
Step away from the hustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature with this gentle Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) session.
Step away from the hustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature with this gentle Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) session, facilitated by Dr Malcolm Kerr in associating with Heather Lodge CIC.
Forest bathing is a slow, mindful experience that invites you to connect deeply with woodland through your senses. Rather than a walk or hike, this session offers a guided opportunity to pause, breathe, notice, and simply be among the trees, supporting relaxation, reflection and restoration.
Dr Malcolm Kerr is a General Practitioner with a special interest in remote and rural medicine, who has practised on Arran for many years. With a lifelong affinity for the natural world and an interest in complementary therapies, Malcolm trained with Nature and Therapy UK, blending modern science with ancient wisdom.
Research shows that time spent among trees can reduce stress, lower heart rate and blood pressure, stimulate the body’s calming parasympathetic system, and support immune health.
This session will gently open your awareness in new ways, encouraging you to reconnect with nature, and with yourself, in a calm, supportive woodland setting.
Come away feeling calmer, grounded, and renewed.
Facilitated by Dr Malcolm Kerr FRCPEdin, MRCGP
