Description

Forgive us our Debts
Wednesday 30th January 2019, 6:30pm-8:00pm (drinks reception from 8:00pm-9:00pm)
OBE Chapel, St Paul's Cathedral, St Paul's Churchyard, London, EC4M 8AD

Forgive us our Debts is a partnership project between Theos and St Paul’s Institute. The project seeks to examine debt in the UK at the personal, corporate, and government levels and engage the main areas of concern within a theologically–informed moral framework.

Our aim is to stimulate a debate on current debt in the UK that takes into consideration debt’s moral dimensions and relational consequences; we also seek to help effect change where debt, rather than being orientated towards the common good, prevents people and communities from flourishing.

Join us at St Paul’s Cathedral on 30 January 2019 at 18:30 as we launch our findings and bring together a group of leading thinkers and practitioners to discuss ethics, finance and our nation’s relationship with money.

Speakers include:

- Stella Creasy, MP for Walthamstow
- Lord Brian Griffiths of Fforestfach, House of Lords
- Sir Hector Sants, Chair, The Single Financial Guidance Body
- John Thompson, London Oval Debt Centre
- Barbara Ridpath, Former Director St Paul's Institute and co-author of Forgive Us Our Debts
- Nathan Mladin, Researcher at Theos and co-author of Forgive Us Our Debts

There will be a drinks reception after the discussion. We hope you will be able to join us for a complimentary glass of wine and continue the conversation.

The entrance for this event will be the North West Crypt Door opposite Paternoster Square. Doors open at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.
