Event description

Description

The third Four Brits Book Fest author event is coming to our fellow Brits from Oxford, England. You - the readers and fangirls - chose the location and we listened and acted!

The signing itself is on Saturday 11th August, 2018 and will be taking place during the hours of 11am and 5pm.

There will only be ONE type of ticket. We have decided against a VIP/early entry and we shall explain why further down.

The price of each ticket is £25 (Eventbrite add their fees on top of this, so each ticket will be around the £26.64 mark) and there will be 400 tickets available. You may buy a maximum of two tickets at the time of purchase to keep this fair for all readers to get the tickets they want.

Please be aware, though, that #FBBF17 tickets sold out COMPLETELY in 17 minutes. As mind boggling and shocking as that is, we do recommend not waiting to buy a ticket. Tickets will be NON-REFUNDABLE but transferable FOR FACE VALUE to another person.

As mentioned, the signing will be taking place between the hours of 11am and 5pm. Authors will be leaving the signing room in intervals for their lunch break between 1pm and 3pm. Readers may remain in the room for the entire 6 hours and visit with those who are not taking a break.

Registration for the event will take place at 10am on Saturday August 11, 2018. We *may* open up registration for an hour or two on the day before if we can make it happen. This will be announced in due course.

Due to the rules set out by Oxford City Council and the Town Hall there are restrictions with regards to access to the building. Readers/attendees CAN NOT enter the building until 10am on the day of the signing due to our agreement with the event organisers. This is why there is no early entry/VIP session.

We will be allowing a limited number of our disabled/limited mobility readers front of the queue access into the signing room. In the past, you've all been very good at letting us know your needs and concerns and we have made arrangements the best we can to help you have the best signing possible. A form will be posted in the FBBF attendees group for the information of those wishing to take advantage of this "first in" process.

What the front of the queue access means that you don't need to line up to enter the building or the signing room and get in there first. IF we can make it happen,we will get you inside the building to wait and in to the room a few minutes earlier. It all depends if the authors (and we!) are set up and ready to go - all details of this will become known closer to the event.

There is step-free access into the building and a lift which will primarily be used for our limited mobility attendees so if you're bringing suitcases/trolleys/trucks please be prepared to either carry them up/down stairs or wait for the lift to be free.

There is a NO PARKING rule on the street of the Town Hall at any time and no loading/unloading between the hours of 7.30 am - 9.30am and 4pm - 6pm. The city's Park & Ride facilities are fab and run very frequently. Likewise there are taxi services in the area all day/night.

The signing room must be vacated at 5pm. No extensions.

There is a cafe on site which serves hot and cold drinks/food. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants and eateries in the surrounding areas to the signing venue.

As always, a Four Brits Book Fest event will not run smoothly without the help of volunteers and assistants. We will be asking for help again later this year/early next so please consider if this is something you'd like to do.

PLEASE NOTE: The author line can change at any time and is normally completely out of our control.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Minimum age 16 due to the content of the books.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please email any questions not answered here to fourbritsbookfest(at)gmail(dot)com

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

You may "sell" your ticket on for face value but no refunds will be offered to anyone. The seller of the ticket is responsible then for changing the name on the ticket by logging into Eventbrite and changing the details and then emailing the ticket to the new recipient.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Registration will require printed tickets only please but a list with the latest attendees will be on hand also

What is the refund policy?

We will not be offering any refunds. Tickets are transferable to somebody else, though. Please see above question about ticket transfers.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

You can log into Eventbrite and change the name on your ticket(s) - if you buy more than one ticket you will be asked for the names and email addresses of each attendee. That way each ticket will have the correct name on and it will be sent to their email address. All information is changeable by logging onto Eventbrite and going to your tickets.

Please note: We reserve the right to refuse sale to any persons without reason or just cause.
