About this event
Requirements
Our additional sessions build on the techniques discussed in Introduction to Framing and Framing Care Experience. We kindly ask that you attend this foundation session before joining.
Overview
Our Framing Data and Causation session will support participants to explore ways to frame numbers, statistics and data when communicating about care experience. It will use insights from our body of research on care experience here in Scotland, research on poverty and eight key framing recommendations.
What We'll Cover
- How does the public respond to ‘unframed’ statistics and analysis?
- What is motivated numeracy and how can we navigate it?
- A deeper dive into the role of explanation and causation
- Tools we can use to make sure our data tells the story we want it to
This is an interactive session and an opportunity to reflect on your own work. In advance of the session, please think about the different ways in which you use numbers and statistics to communicate a message.
Who Should Attend?
This session is for people with an interest in policy, evaluation, analysis, research, funding or those who support communications in these areas. This list is not exhaustive – if you think you'll enjoy this session, please join us.
