Freaks R Us Presents: Autumns (LIVE) (Downwards / Clan Destine) + Kerri LeB...
Fri, 10 Mar 2017, 19:30 – Sat, 11 Mar 2017, 00:00 GMT
Three nascent affiliates + luminaries of Downwards Records, Jealous God & Clan Destine in London for the very first time. A night of live performance & DJ sets at the intersect between Post-Punk, Industrial, Rhythmic Noise & Techno.
Autumns (Northern Ireland, Downwards / Clan Destine) (LIVE)
Autumns is the solo project of Christian Donaghey, from Derry, Northern Ireland, an outlet for high energy, electronic post-punk with a lethal pulse. Releases for Downwards, Clan Destine, live scores to David Lynch and an acclaimed collaboration with Samuel Kerridge at Paris Fashion week have made Autumns a vital voice in a new vanguard of post-punk inspired industrial electronics comprised of transgressive noise, dysfunctional metal dance and DIY punk angst. Autumns plays London for the first time fresh from the release of Downwards label compilation The Immortal Eye.
Kerri LeBon (San Francisco, Discipline / Jealous God / Nation) (DJ SET)
A DJ, artist and designer based in San Francisco, Kerri is the creator of the Bay Area club night Discipline. Her mixes have graced the likes of Phormix, Digital Tsunami, Electronic Explorations and Intergalactic FM, as well as via physical format on Silent Servant, James Ruskin & Regis’ label Jealous God (Jealous God 005) Her own productions have included a release on Traxx’s Nation imprint as Red Light, a renowned collaboration with Minimal Wave veteran In Aeternam Vale and a duo of remixes for Russian techno modernist Alexey Volkov. As likely to draw from EBM and techno as she is early industrial, her sets are always a punishing marvel of dread atmospherics and brutal ecstasy. 'Nothing short of total war'.
Carl ClanDestine (Glasgow, Clan Destine Records) (DJ SET)
Clan Destine Records have been going since 2009, in that time accruing over a century of releases that stretch the boundaries between punk, noise, industrial, techno, acid and a myriad of other cult variants between and beyond these styles. The helmsman of it all will be joining us early on, no doubt airing the aural obsessions explored on his own Clan Destine mixtapes. Everything permitted, from neofolk, black metal and dungeon synth to antisocial acid and screwed Memphis crunk.
