North-East Hants and Surrey (NEHS) Maths Hub is led by St John the Baptist School, Woking and runs a large programme of  Work Groups and events throughout the year with the aim of improving Maths teaching, leadership and professional learning practice to transform Maths education.The Maths Hubs Network is the collaborative partnership of the 40 Maths Hubs across England, supported and facilitated by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM). A Work Group for Secondary Maths teachers and their departments aimed at developing students' mathematical thinking by the end of KS4.

A Work Group for Secondary Maths teachers and their departments aimed at developing mathematical thinking for reasoning and problem-solving skills. The Work Group will focus on the long term development of skills across KS3 &amp; KS4, and the immediate needs of current KS4 students. The Work Group consists of 5 sessions: 4 x online via Zoom plus1x face to face session and will include resources being developed for the classroom and activities to trial in departments between sessions *.Session One: 2nd March 3.45 - 5.15pm (online)Introduction to programmeSession Two: 20th April 3.45 - 5.15pm (online)Generic StructuresSession Three:8th June 3.45 - 5.15pm (online)Reflection, Withholding informationSession Four: 22nd June 10am - 3pm (face-to-face at Guildford County School, Farnham Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 4LU) Reflection, Professional Learning, Evaluation*One teacher from each participating school is required to attend all sessions and conduct activities with their departments and intersessional tasks.Although this Work Group is online, it is offered to State-funded schools in the North-East Hants and Surrey Maths Hub Region.  Please Note: It is now a DfE requirement to provide your TRN when registering for this work group - if you need to locate this, please go to : <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/individual-teacher-records-information-for-teachers" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.gov.uk/guidance/individual-teacher-records-information-for-teachers</a> All registrants will be added to an NCETM Basecamp online community for this Work Group in order to access resources and information.Once registered, we will be in touch with details of how to access the first online session via Zoom.
