About Fen Bridges
Fen Bridges is a new programme developed by artists Alan Seiglow & Karen Avilez, designed to support community members accessing creative and cultural places across the East of England.
We are delighted to invite you on our next day trip on Friday 16th January 2026 to Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge, followed by a visit to the Fitzwilliam Museum.
This visit will include an introduction from Karen Thomas, Community Manager at Kettle’s Yard, an opportunity to tour the House and see the current exhibition Harold Offeh: Mmm Gotta Try a Little Harder, It Could Be Sweet, and then an afternoon exploring the Fitzwilliam Museum with time to sketch, write, reflect or simply enjoy the collections.
We hope to be joined by some other Cambridge Artists on the day and continue to grow our connections to other communities across the East.
We warmly welcome you to join us for a relaxed and inspiring day out.
When: Friday 16th January, meeting at 9:15 am.
Where: meeting point at Platform 2, March Railway Station, Station Road, PE15 8SJ.
Time: 9:15 am, returning at 5:40 pm
YOU MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE.
Meet us at Platform 2 March Railway Station, Station Road, PE15 8SJ. If you would like to join us you must meet our Creative Producer Karen Avilez at 09:15am.
We will be departing Cambridge at 5pm and hope to be back in March for 5:40pm.
As part of the visit we will also pay for your travel up to a day return train or bus ticket from your town of departure - March, Wisbech, Whittlesey, Manea etc. Please make Alan & Karen aware by emailing: creativefenlandinfo@gmail.com
We’ll supply you with a sketch pad/or note pad for you to draw or write. We’ll have sketching materials available.
PLEASE NOTE:
- We will provide each participant with a plane notepad, and drawing/writing materials
- Fen Bridges will cover travel costs, including a day return train or bus ticket from your town of departure: Wisbech, Manea, Whittlesey, Chatteris, etc.
- You must bring your own pack lunch, snacks, & water. Charged phone.
- Food is available for purchase at Kettle's Yard Cafe or at Fitzwilliam Museum's Cafe.
- We advise wearing comfortable footwear and warm clothing/layers.
- Please be aware of low paced walking involved - we will walk from Kettles Yard to the Fitzwilliam Museum and then onto Cambridge Railway Station in all 1.8 miles, excluding the walking in the gallery & museum.
