Freedom from Stress & Overwhelm
Finding peace within pressure
We all know that stressing out only makes things worse. Yet when life feels uncertain or overwhelming, it can seem as though we have no choice but to worry about the pressures and crises we face.
According to the Buddha, stress does not come from external situations themselves, but from how our mind responds to them. When we understand this, something powerful becomes possible: instead of being trapped in a stressed, reactive state of mind, we can learn how to step out of it. By gently shifting into a clear and peaceful mind, we gain the ability to respond to difficulties in a more centred, flexible, and effective way.
In this half-day course, Buddhist teacher Nicola will guide you in surprisingly simple meditations that can quickly bring about inner calm and mental clarity. Drawing on the Buddha’s profound insights into the nature of the mind, she will then reveal where our stressful reactions come from, and how we can relate to our challenges with greater wisdom, balance, and confidence.
Held in Chestfield, this half-day course offers a calm, supportive space to step back from stress and mental overload. You will relax, reflect, meet like-minded people, and gain practical tools for responding to life’s challenges with greater ease and clarity.
Everyone is welcome. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed or simply wish to refresh your practice, this course offers an accessible and effective way to experience the benefits of meditation.
