Freestyle embroidery session - inspired by South American Motifs plus Peruvian braid making

A freestyle embroidery workshop for all

Join us for an inspiring hands-on workshop where we will be sharing ideas and techniques for creating embroidery inspired by South American textiles. No previous experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity and creativity!

We are a friendly group of embroidery and textile enthusiasts and we regularly share our skills in our workshop sessions. You are invited to join us, bring yopur own project or an idea that you would like to share and get feedback on from fellow textile lovers. You will leave with lots of ideas and inspiration for techniques that can be applied in your own textile and embroidery projects.

What you need: A selection of fabrics, threads, yarns and trimmings to suit your ideas.

Basic embroidery kit: needles, scissors, embroidery hoops, drawing materials etc.

This workshop is perfect for complete beginners, anyone looking to try a new craft, or those with some embroidery experience who want to explore beadwork. We're a friendly, supportive group and welcome crafters of all skill levels.

About Blackheath Embroiderers Group: We're a community of embroidery enthusiasts who love sharing our passion for textile arts. Whether you join us for this single workshop or decide to explore membership, we'd love to help you discover the joy of creative stitching.

Come spend a relaxing afternoon learning something new, meeting fellow craft lovers, and creating something beautiful to take home!

This workshop is part of Blackheath Embroiderers season of embroidery and textile art sessions looking at textile technoques from around the globe.

Our sessions are led by group members with experience and passion for the subject.

We welcome textile enthusiasts of all levels of experience, just bring along a basic sewing kit, embroidery threads, some assorted fabrics and, if you like, a garment to mend!

We also offer an online zoom link to all ticket holders, just in case you can't make it in person - the link will be sent to you with your booking confirmation.
