Festival of the Future 2026 — Friday Evening: Accelerate Debate
Accelerate Debate — a free evening debate on the future of the built environment. Open to everyone at the RCA, Battersea. Fri 9 Oct 2026.
As the schools day winds down, the festival steps up. The Accelerate Debate is a free evening of live, honest conversation about the future of the built environment — and who gets to shape it. Real talk, big questions, and a drink in hand.
Run with Open City as part of its Accelerate programme, this debate hands the floor to the next generation — tackling the real experiences and challenges of getting into and getting on in the sector, and finding the common ground to move things forward. Expect architects, engineers, planners and community voices in the room, and a conversation that doesn't dodge the hard questions.
Motion and speakers to be announced.
Open to everyone — students, early-career, seasoned practitioners and the simply curious. Come and be part of it.
When: Friday 9 October 2026, from 6.00pm (until approx. 8.00pm).
Where: Royal College of Art, Battersea — Dyson Building, Hester Road, London SW11 4AY.
Cost: Free — book your place. Seating is limited, so book early.
Good to know: this is a separate booking from the Friday Schools Day — a day place doesn't include the evening. Step-free access and accessible toilets; no parking on site — please travel by public transport (nearest bus stop Battersea Bridge / Hester Road: 19, 49, 170, 319, 345; nearest Tube Battersea Power Station).
When you book, we'll ask for: any access or BSL needs · how you heard about us · marketing opt-in.
