From Landscape to Loom
Spend a day immersing yourself in the wonderful world of colour, texture and weave.
Spend a day immersing yourself in the wonderful world of colour, texture and weave. Learn to work freely and sensitively from the world around you, through an exploration of colour and proportion and pattern with paint, to translating those studies into woven works. Working with sustainable and environmentally conscious materials this workshop will allow you to make closely with nature and dip your toes into the rewarding world of heritage craft.
Born in Cornwall, Ellie’s hand-woven textiles tell tales of the hidden beauty of Cornwall’s rugged landscapes and marine life. Ellie is working to preserve heritage craft, embrace natural pigments and create work with meaning using sustainable practices and working in close connection with her surroundings. Ellie has always had a deep love for her birthplace, and it's became very clear that she loves working with colour and texture. Through her woven work Ellie hopes to strike conversations and draw people closer to their environments and encourage people to see things in a different light.
