Join us for an all-levels yoga class, drawing on the themes of our exhibition Blue at the University of Stirling Art Collection.

As part of the University of Stirling Art Collection's Open Day, we are pleased to offer this free yoga class. The Art Collection Open Day will be celebrating our theme of the year, health and wellbeing and will have an exciting programme of events throughout the day. With the theme of wellness for the Open Day being centered around the colour blue, I knew the class needed to focus on the theme of water- it is also somewhat fortuitous that there is a Full Moon that same weekend! The Full Moon is an immensely powerful time- the moon governing the movement of our oceans and seas, and so of course it has an enormous impact on us and our emotions and feelings. Our yoga flow will build on the theme of flowing water under the Full Moon- encouraging us to move, to flow, to reconnect with nature, to go back to our very foundations, and to teach us to quite literally "go with the flow" in life, trusting our hearts and our instinct, and inviting in fresh energy, positive change and new beginnings.The class will be held by Mary Ann, a bit about her: I trained in vinyasa and ashtanga yoga in India, and now dedicate my time to sharing with others the healing powers of yoga, both physically and mentally, but also spiritually. My classes focus on moving in ways which feel good. I have dedicated many years of my life to helping others in achieving their goals, in gaining clarity and in living a fuller, happier life. Yoga is a natural progression from here, not only physically but in bringing us strength, freedom from fear, anxiety, stress and ultimately guiding us to inner peace- something every one of us craves. I firmly believe that with courage, self-belief and a little sprinkling of self-love, you can truly achieve anything. Yoga brings me these things in wild abundance- and I hope to share these gifts with you too. We can all be happy- sometimes we just need to be reminded of who we already are and of the magic that lives within each and every one of us. See you on the mat soon!
