Event description

Description

You all know how to network, but do you know how important networking is in this fully connected new age? Do you know how to make sense of, and learn from, this very complicated 'Age of Overload'?

Julia Hobsbawm is the world's first professor in Networking, having been made Honorary Visiting Professor by London's Cass Business School and has thirty years of experience at a senior level consulting for business. She has defined modern knowledge networking and created a system to teach individuals and organisations how to successfully navigate the Age of Overload. She is the author of several books and articles covering Social Health, networks, communication, women in business, the media and the future of the workplace.

The conversation will focus on Julia's new book 'Fully Connected: Surviving & Thriving in an Age of Overload', and each attendee will receive a copy of the book.

"In Fully Connected Julia Hobsbawm takes us on a journey often a personal one, 'from Telex to Twitter' to illustrate how the answer to the Age of Overload can come from devising management-based systems which are both highly practical and yet intuitive, and which draw inspiration from the huge advances the world has made in tackling other kinds of health, specifically nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being.

Drawing on the latest thinking in health and behavioural economics, social psychology, neuroscience, management and social network analysis, this book provides a cornucopia of case studies and ideas, to educate and inspire a new generation of managers, policymakers and anyone wanting to navigate through the rough seas of overload."

There will be a talk from Julia, followed by a Q&A and then a chance to network alongside the master of networking herself.
