Juliet from the Butterfly Tree Glass Studio welcomes you to this 4-week fused glass course in Brunswick Village Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be introduced to working with glass in all its forms and be guided; step by step, to translate your chosen designs into your own unique creation.

The workshop is suitable for all ability levels as designs can be adapted to be as simple or complex as you would like. You really don’t need to be at all ‘arty’ to create beautiful pieces of glass for your home or as gifts. You can bring images of what you would like to make, and there will be an assortment of templates for you to chose from.
The teaching will be a short session at the beginning of each workshop and Juliet will then be there to support and guide you to develop your skills at your own pace. The workshops are small so there is plenty of one-to-one support (no more than 6 people). Workshops will be held in the studio and; weather permitting, in the garden.
All tools, teaching techniques and kiln firing is provided. Your first 30x30cm piece of clear glass is included in the price. You bring your ideas and enthusiasm and then only pay for the glass that you use (cost price) to reate your designs. We have a wide range of glass to choose from; including, sheet glass, frit, stringers, Tabitha’s Emporium Murrine and more. You will leave with 4 pieces of unique glass art starting with coasters.
During the course you will learn about all the basics in fusing glass. including
1. types of glass,
2. how to safely cut glass,
3. 3 main types of fusing and how to create your design appropriately for each type
4. Building beautiful glass art from design to finished produce
Fused glass art is such a gentle & relaxing hobby, so if you are interested in learning or developing your skills, in a lovely peaceful setting, at a price that you can afford, with likeminded people, this is the course for you.
