Making the Future is a major new cultural heritage project from Nerve Centre, National Museums NI, Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and Linen Hall Library, supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV programme.Making the Future will use significant objects, collections and archives as a stimulus to pose challenging questions about the past, ‘take the temperature’ of where we are at currently as a society, and create a manifesto for our future.For more information onMaking the Futureand how to get involved visit www.makingthefuture.eu

Develop your design skills to express your hopes and desires for the future

Aged 12-16 and interested in developing your design skills?Join the Linen Hall Library and a team of artists for a week-long online programme to learn the art of digital design, create an eye-catching message and develop some graffiti art skillsHere&#x27;s how it will work:-- We&#x27;ll send you an art pack in the post with everything you need to take part in the programme-- Work with illustrator Conor McClure who will talk you through the design process whilst you get hands-on experience creating your own work-- Take part in a collage and slogan creation session with Lesley Cherry and Paul Kane to create your own bespoke message-- Graffiti experts UV Arts will lead a workshop on how street art can be used as an alternative form of expression-- Create your own billboard designs expressing your hopes and desires for the future.This programme is FREE and open to young people aged 12-16 based anywhere in Northern Ireland or the border counties. The programme will take place online with sessions hosted via Zoom and Slack (both of these apps are free to download). Workshops take place each day from 17th-21st August, 10.30am-12.30pm. Your availability to attend each day is required.

Making the Future and its project partners would like to share information and imagery from the programme through social media to highlight ongoing progress and to showcase the good work. This may involve sharing screenshots of online meetings and examples of the content being created. Any content shared will be credited to its creator. By signing up to this programme you consent to content being shared on social media.
