The RSA would like to invite you to join us at a solutions lab on June 21st focused on challenges to good work in retail identified by the sector. On the day, we hope to learn from your expertise and spark your creativity to shape ideas to prototype good work interventions to pilot across the sector or within organisations.

Challenge 1 - Upskilling and reskilling: how might we equip workers with the soft skills and technical capabilities needed for the jobs of the future?

Challenge 2 - Survival of physical stores and high streets: how might we adapt to the changing role of bricks and mortar retail? Can we redesign job roles, develop new business models or consider new forms of collaboration with other high street businesses?

Challenge 3 - Benchmarking good work: how might we establish a set of standards for the sector around practices such as flexible working or outsourcing?

The event will convene a range of partners from across retail, policy, professional services and innovation to develop minimum viable propositions for each challenge, with a plan for how to test them.

We will start the day with an immersive future experience. Following a series of collaborative workshops, the proposed solutions will be evaluated by an advisory panel, consisting of RSA Chief Executive Matthew Taylor and other industry leaders. Lunch will be provided.

Date: 21st June

Time: 9.30-3.30pm

Place: Taylor Wessing, 5 New Street Square, London, EC4A 3TW

Who should attend? HR/L&D directors, retail directors, technologists, property directors, future of work strategists, policy makers, service designers.
