FUZE Coding & Electronics Workshop - For beginners

FUZE Technologies Ltd has been teaching children aged six and up and including young adults (sixteen to twenty one) for the last four years to great success.We designed and manufactured the FUZE workstation in 2013 and went to market in 2014. The response from the consumer and education press has constantly been overwhelming.The FUZE coding workstation is a custom designed mini PC built with a Raspberry Pi or ASUS Tinker Board at its heart.  The operating system is focused on presenting the FUZE programming environment as quickly as possible.As well as selling the FUZE in retail outlets we also take them around the UK to schools and colleges to deliver FUZE Coding Workshops.  These have been, and are, extremely well received. In addition, we are regularly commissioned by high profile event organisers to deliver similar workshops at their events.  These include the Big Bang Science Fairs and The Eden Project.We also host holiday coding workshops during term breaks where children spend the day, and often many days, learning to code using the FUZE platform.  The results of these are also extraordinarily positive.In all cases we have amassed a great deal of evidence to support our bold statements that FUZE is the ideal approach to take when introducing real coding to students of all ages.

Exciting and engaging coding & electronics workshops Learn how fun and satisfying coding can be whilst controlling robots, sensors, LED’s, joysticks and more!
You write the code, real code, using a language accessible to all, you control a robotic arm, a light sensitive resistor, LED’s, write a simple game & control it with a joystick you have wired-up and more. Whilst having a great deal of fun you’ll be learning a huge amount about coding, problem solving and the basics of electronics.
This workshop is designed for complete beginners or those with a little experience of graphic or text-based programming. We start off teaching a basic “Loop” and build your knowledge up from there: Loop Print “Hello World ” Repeat
With each program you write, you will learn what you’re doing, why you’re doing it that way and what adding, changing/altering will do.  You will de-bug/solve your own problems You will then use what you’ve learnt to write more programs to do other things, like control LED’s, sensors and a Joystick. We will go with your pace.  If you pick it up really quickly, we can move on, if you’d like more time, that’s great.  There are no hard and fast rules.  This workshop is to show you how much fun coding is, how much you can achieve in a short space of time and teaches you some very valuable coding skills. You will leave with a really good starting knowledge of coding and as you will be inspired to explore and learn more after you leave, we will give you a USB stick with a copy of FUZE BASIC, the coding language you will use in the workshop & PDF project cards so you can keep programming at home on any Windows device.
