Gaggle
Physical comedy for young audiences with complex additional support needs, presented by Tenterhooks.
Monday 13 July
Two performances: 2.30pm & 4.00pm
GAGGLE
Share 3 days and 3 nights with 3 lighthouse keepers. During the day, they work, watch and wait, whatever the weather. At night, the beacon is lit, and that’s when things can get weird, wonderful, and a wee bit wild!
Gaggle is a theatre performance featuring physical comedy, circus and live music. It is made for audiences of young people with complex additional support needs (ASN), and their families.
We are aware that some of our potential audience members will be fascinated by the pole and will feel a strong desire to climb it. For children who want/need to climb, we can offer them a 20 min Circus Pole workshop session instead, supporting them to climb the pole and play on it. Please contact admin@tenterhooks.org to arrange this directly.
The performance includes:
- Slapstick comedy
- Circus pole acrobatics
- Amplified sound
- Live singing (non-verbal)
- Mild peril
- Lighting effects e.g. (torches, lanterns). There are no flashing lights.
- “Fog” (contains water vapour only)
Running time: 35 minutes
Age Recommendation: Children and young people with complex ASN, age 5 +
Children and young people must be accompanied by an adult.
Gaggle is presented by Tenterhooks in association with Beacon Arts Centre; supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
“It was absolutely amazing – my child loved it – we all did!”
“I’ve never seen theatre like that. I’ve seen relaxed performances but not something as inclusive as that. I’m blown away”
