Gamefest 2026

Date: Saturday 20th June 2026

Time: 14:00 - 17:00 (GMT)

Location: Big top tent, behind XFi Building, University of Exeter Steatham Campus

Overview

Welcome to our very first Gamefest, brought to you in collaboration with Playposium x InnoPlay x TechExeter CIC.

With special guests Alistair Aitcheson & Regal Realms Productions

Gamefest is a cosy, community-driven event celebrating everything we love about gaming, storytelling, and play.

Whether you're into button pushing, rolling dice, dungeon crawling, role playing, or just looking for a playful afternoon out with friends, there’s a seat at the table waiting for you. So grab a chair, roll the dice, and discover your next favourite game!

To make this event extra special, we are gathering under our very own Playposium Big Top Tent for an unforgettable afternoon of play.

What to expect from...

Kris Sum & TechExeter CIC

FOOT PONG: Challenge your friends to a game of PONG using our foot pedal controllers, but watch out - our glitchy game has some bugs in it!

Johann Sebastian Joust: Play this no-graphics, digitally-enabled playground game using motion controllers which are sensitive to the speed of the music - try to jostle your opponents' controllers while protecting your own.

Alistair Aitcheson

Codex Bash: A game installation designed by Alistair Aitcheson to mix physical movement with teamwork, communication and problem-solving. One physical space, four big buttons and codes to be cracked! Players must use clues scattered around the room to uncover a sequence of button presses, and run around to bash the buttons in the right order. You may have to flip through maps, pick apart circuit diagrams or rifle through a book of spy photos, but one thing’s for certain: the best codebreakers work as a team!

Tap Happy Sabotage: A frantic party game by Alistair Aitcheson for as many players as can fit around one touchscreen! Divided into a series of fast-and-furious minigames, each round gives the player a new way to move around the screen, a new excuse to get in each other's way and a new way to cheat and sabotage each other!

Regal Realmes Productions

Behind Enemy Lines: Indie tabletop role-playing game developers Sam & Connor will be running playtesting sample sessions of an upcoming indie tabletop role-playing game. Think Call of Duty x Classic roleplay games. Grab some dice and report for duty!

Innoplay

Game library: We will have games big and small, for all ages and abilities to pick up and play.

Designed a game yourself and want to test it out? Have a favourite game sat on your shelf you think others will also enjoy? Bring them along and add to the fun!
