Gardening/ Agriculture in Uganda - How we do it!
About this event
Agriculture is the back born of Uganda's economy, contributing to more than 1/4 to the Gross Domestic Product, employing 70% of Ugandans who live in the rural areas. Uganda produces a wide range of agricultural products including: coffee, tea, sugar, livestock, fish, edible oils, cotton, tobacco, plantains, corn, beans, cassava, sweet potatoes, cassava, millet, sorghum, and groundnuts which are cultivated on only 35% of the 80% arable land.
Join us as we learn how a typical Ugandan does gardening, how we are being affected by climate change, what foods we grow, how we preserve it, what tools we use, how we earn etc. Let's meet the local farmers who produce to provide the 31% of Uganda's agricultural export earnings. We shall be visiting some Deaf farmers, and with your support, we shall set up the Infinity farm.
See you there!
