Gastrostomy (PEG) Training – Knowledge-Based Study Session

This knowledge-based study session is designed for care staff who support individuals with a gastrostomy (PEG) tube and require an understanding of safe feeding and care practices. The session is delivered by a qualified nurse with experience in gastrostomy tube care, providing learners with the essential knowledge needed to support individuals safely and effectively.

Please note: Attendees must have successfully completed their medication administration training prior to attending this session.

As Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) does not delegate gastrostomy care tasks, this course provides theoretical knowledge only and does not include practical competency assessment or sign-off. Competency assessment and delegation of care must be undertaken by a registered nurse employed by the participant's organisation, in accordance with local policies and procedures.

This session is suitable for care providers who have access to a registered nurse responsible for clinical oversight, delegation, and ongoing competency assessment.
