Welcome to GCSE Physics Teaching: Electricity !

Come join us on Tue 13th May 2025 at St Clement Danes School

This course will support you with effective teaching and learning at GCSE level in physics. Common student misconceptions, the key substantive knowledge as well as practical techniques will be investigated and exam question examples , with ample hands-on practice to hone your approach to student learning.

Topics covered are: potential difference and current, analogies and misconceptions, definitions and circuit models, resistance, series and parallel circuits, building and explaining circuits, electromagnetism, motors , dynamo effect, Fleming hand rule, earthing, demonstrations and practical work.


Outcomes

The CPD will:

  • develop teaching skills and pedegogy for teaching Electricity
  • ensure greater confidence in the subject knowledge of Electricity
  • resource you with ideas for practical work and way to teach the mathematical content
