These rules can be confusing and they are often misunderstood. It doesn’t matter how big or small your organisation is, you need to think about data protection. Getting things wrong can cost a lot of money and damage an organisation’s reputation. It is vital for start-ups and small-to-medium-sized enterprises to understand how they must comply with the rules – even a small fine or loss of business can be crippling. But putting measures in place at an early stage brings dividends in the long run.
