Since our review of the Cloud First policy in 2019, GDS has published several new pieces of guidance and a playbook. This workshop will explore that guidance, our user research findings and what we'll be publishing next.

The session will start with a guest presenter who will talk about their cloud strategy and lessons learned.

Following that, we'll give a brief overview of our best practices for managing vendor lock-in, forecasting, and cost optimisation as well as the importance of Cloud First. We'll also show you some of the things we found in common as we did user research across 17 different departments and organisations.

This is a great opportunity to hear about the different cloud strategies we've seen as well as a chance to meet members of the public sector cloud community in London.
