Join GEM as we explore the future of the Learning &amp; Sharing Centre (LSC), set up with ACE funding. At the close of this highly productive project, we will be reflecting on the outcomes and involving you in planning the next steps for GEM and the sector, ensuring that the project has a lasting legacy.
 
By April 2018, GEM’s LSC project will have developed:

<LI>Seven new courses at foundation, intermediate and advanced level, which have all run three times across England so far. </LI>
<LI>A new GEM website making the case for museum learning and listing CPD opportunities from GEM and other providers. </LI>
<LI>Nine sharing events and two CPD events on mentoring. </LI>
<LI>Business training model for a sustainable GEM.</LI>
</UL>
 
Take part in a CPD conversation spanning the museums and heritage sector. As GEM shares our learning from the LSC, together we will:

Day plan
10.00  Registration: Refreshments and networking.
10.45  Welcome: Welcome from GEM chair &amp; project director and the National Army Museum. 
11.00  Sharing snapshots: Short, dynamic talks by those involved in the LSC, reflecting on the lessons learned during the project and their recommendations for the sector going forward. 
11.50  Breakout discussions: Each snapshot speaker chairs a discussion of their topic, bringing delegates together to find concrete next steps. Delegates are encouraged to move between tables and topics.   
12.30  Lunch and gallery challenge: Explore the National Army Museum one year after its incredible reopening!
13.30  National Army Museum: Learn more about the work of this newly redeveloped museum.
14.00  Course tasters: Sample one of our intermediate courses (Heritage Interpretation, Working with Artists in Heritage Settings or Health and Wellbeing).
14.45  Refreshments
15.00  Who? What? Why? GEM course participants reflect on their experiences and lead discussions on training and professional development.
15.30  A learning and sharing legacy: Panel discussion and Q&A with GEM on embedding and building on the LSC for a stronger sector.
16.00  Closing remarks: GEM chair &amp; project director closes the conference. You are welcome to stay and celebrate with refreshments!
