<h2>The ultimate way to kick-start Generator Live Festival - our 2023 conference is back.</h2><p><strong>We'll be taking over the stunning Common Rooms of the Great North for a full day of inspiring talks, panels and workshops designed to support artists and creatives in navigating the music industry.</strong> T﻿aking place the day before our all dayer at Boiler Shop and electronic stage at World Headquarters, Generator Live Conference will bring together industry leaders, experts and grassroots music champions who will cover a wide range of topics from mental health in music through to touring advice and sustainable incomes.</p><p>Generator Live conference will also provide an opportunity for you to get your music in front of industry experts as well as bespoke sessions spanning all music communities from underground DIY to electronic to commercial to everything in between. Alongside the sessions, there'll be plenty of opportunities to connect with other delegates including in our Signature Brew Green Room, where our friends at Press On Vinyl will host informal drop in advice sessions paired with a delicious selection of Signature Brew beers. <h3></h3><h3>This is a free event, but due to limited space, you must register for a free ticket. </h3><p>It's important to us at Generator that we keep the majority of our events free and accessible, so that everyone can attend. </p><p>We are currently experiencing a high number of no-shows for our free events however, so to mitigate the impact this is having and to ensure everyone who can attend gets a ticket, we will be releasing tickets in smaller batches, and releasing more tickets when they become available because of returns or cancellations. If you miss out on a ticket during this wave, join the waiting list and you'll be automatically notified when a ticket becomes available. </p><p>If you are no longer able to attend or use your ticket, please let us know as soon as possible so we can release your ticket. </p>

Music Minds Matter has seen a 200% increase over the past two years in those seeking mental health support. Anxiety and stress are common presenting factors, which is understandable as many are navigating a new reality after the global pandemic. The pandemic has also brought more opportunities for artists to connect with fans online. In this era of being present, everywhere, all at once, how can we make sure we support the artists we work with to prevent the risk of burnout and how can we empower those in the industry to manage boundaries to ensure that they are able to manage the inevitable ups and downs of working in the music industry? Find out from artists, health and wellbeing specialists and mental health experts about how those working in music can prioritise their mental health and find the right balance.

Our Generator Union lead Ste Dunn introduces Generator Union: Our cross-sector creative and cultural membership network, bringing together freelancers & founders, students & start-ups and everyone in between.

Through an open discussion we will explore the rise in popularity of electronic dance music and club culture in the North East. How are nightclubs, promoters, artists and agents impacted by rising costs? Is the resurgence in popularity sustainable during a cost of living crisis? Where is the respect and support for club culture from local authorities? Is the underground being commercialised too quickly without the infrastructure to support it? Is the North East equipped to keep up with the current trends?

This is a conversation about the importance of embracing 'DIY methods' in 2023, both in the North East and the wider industry. Exploring the value of independent labels, independent venues and the 'DIY culture' - our panel will discuss how this pathway into the music industry can be valuable, sustainable and often integral for some people to succeed.

Need a place to relax at the Generator Live Conference? Get on over to the Signature Brew Green Room on the third floor. We’ve teamed up with the folks at Signature Brew and Press on Vinyl to provide you with a casual environment to discuss all things music. Sit back and relax with one of Signature’s iconic beers and find out more about Press On Vinyl’s platform FairSound which allows artists and labels to fan-fund a vinyl release. This means that artists can fund their vinyl’s with no up-front costs and if the campaign isn’t successful then the fans get their money back. It gives labels a great idea of the demand for each artist too and with no up-front costs, it frees up money for other projects. So pull up a chair, grab a beer and discover what’s on offer in the Green Room throughout the day. We also welcome Key Production to the North East, bringing 30 years of manufacturing knowledge, passion and innovative sustainable solutions to the conversation!
