The importance of genomics in current healthcare will be explored through a series of scenarios following client cases in maternity, children’s services, adult services, and mental health services. The complexity of ethical issues in decision making will be considered along with the service user perspective.
This study day is suitable for anyone interested in how genomics is changing the face of healthcare and enabling an individual tailored approach to disease management. It will also be helpful for healthcare professionals to understand how to refer clients to genomic services to support ongoing care.
