Geospatial User Workshop - Bristol

ODI Bristol joined the global network of ODI Nodes in the summer of 2015. The Bristol Node is run by a group of volunteers active in the field, with the support ofBristol Is Openand theCity Innovation Teamat Bristol City Council.There areODI Nodesall over the world, and we work closely with them andODI HQto share learning, innovations and inspiration. As a Community Node, our main focus is to continue to build and support an open data ecosystem for the City of Bristol.The Open Data Institute (ODI) is catalysing the evolution of open data culture to create economic, environmental and social value. We help unlock supply, generate demand, create and disseminate knowledge to address local and global issues. We convene world class experts to collaborate, incubate, nurture new ideas, and promote innovation. Following the announcement that the UK government intends to form a Geospatial Commission, the Cabinet Office are currently exploring how to open up freely the OS MasterMap data to UK-based small businesses in particular.
 
The cross-government team, led by Cabinet Office, are keen to engage with small businesses, startups and other data users who can help provide insight into the challenges faced with using MasterMap in its current form and in its current pricing and licensing scheme
 
In collaboration with ODI HQ and the Cabinet Office team we are running this workshop to help collect a diverse range of opinions and data user needs.
 
A vegetarian buffet will be provided during the workshop, including gluten free food.
