There are so many people who are or want to be involved in image-making, whether those images are moving or static. One of the things that unites us is the need to understand and be confident with certain kinds of technology: cameras, lenses, microphones, lights, grip equipment, drones, computer hardware and so much more. Get Equipped is a new, not-for-profit event for northern creatives and technical people to mingle, share stories and ideas and get hands-on with kit that they might not have tried before. There will be workshops and demonstrations and 'market-stalls' filled with second-hand gear. We want you to go away with new skills, knowledge, confidence, contacts, ideas...and maybe a bargain or two.Among a number of to be confirmed additions, Get Equipped 2019 will feature…<ul><li> Headline guest speaker Jonathan Young (Lighting Cameraman / Documentary DoP; Stacey Dooley – Russia’s War on Women, The Americas With Simon Reeve, Ross Kemp Extreme World)</li></ul><ul><li> Panel discussion hosted by The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network: “Making a high-profile Short Film: technology and techniques”</li></ul><ul><li> 30 minute discussion plus Q&amp;A session with Richard Knight of Screen Yorkshire (This is England, Ackley Bridge)</li></ul><ul><li> 30 minute talk on post production and sound by Susan Pennington (Post Sound – The Virtues)</li></ul><ul><li> Several 10-15 min presentations from regional organisations and companies such as Screen Yorkshire and a new studio facility opening in Sheffield</li></ul><ul><li> 4-6 film/video/audio technology demonstrations by regional professionals</li></ul><ul><li> A handful of stalls at which local/regional companies/crew can sell their used equipment</li></ul><ul><li> A handful of exhibitors including Pro-Vision</li></ul><ul><li> Networking opportunities</li></ul><ul><li> Exhibitions of local photography, film and video, providing a window into the heart of Sheffield’s creative field</li></ul><ul><li> Interactive tech-focused games</li></ul>Entry is free, but an Eventbrite ticket is the only means of guaranteeing entry. Note that this does not guarantee entry to the demonstrations/talks/etc within the event; tickets for these will be available on the day of the event on a first come, first served basis.
