About this event

  • 2 hours

This mini group workshop will explain the fundamentals of photography and enable you to get off auto in the beautiful Greater Manchester suberb of Sale.

We’ll start off with a coffee (or tea if you prefer), which is included in the price, and the first half of the session which will be classroom style. Once we have got to grips with the technicals, we’ll head onto the practical half of the session, photographing a beauty spot in Sale in full manual mode. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and practical experience you need to realise the potential of your camera.

Included in the workshop is a handy PDF digital notes guide sent following your course.

Once booked full meet details will be sent via email 48 hours prior to your workshop date.

Equipment Required: Any Camera which allows you to control Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO (I recommend fully charging batteries and ensuring lots of free memory space before the session).

Car Parking, Tram and Bus links?

Car parking is free of charge in the small car park at Walkden Gardens, alternative parking details will be included in your welcome email. The closest Metrolink station is Brooklands on the Altrincham line (10-15 minutes walk) and it is served by the 99 and 266 bus routes.

I only have 'x' camera, is that ok?

As long as your camera has the ability to control aperture, shutter and iso, then your camera is ideal for this workshop. There is zero camera snobbery on this course, if it takes photographs then it's great.

What happens if it rains?

A lot of this course is sheltered however should the weather be life threatening then an alternative date will be made available.

Do I need a tripod or further gear?

No. But bring what you want to use - if that includes a tripod then great, if not...also great.
