She started her career at Procter &amp; Gamble and has held senior executive positions at Mars, Boots, Yell and BSI.Ann is an expert in Management and Leadership in the workplace, and speaks frequently in the media; she is a regular columnist for The London Times. In 2020 she was awarded an OBE for services to Workplace Equality. She authored ‘Create a Gender-balanced Workplace,’ and the ‘Financial Times Guide to Management’. In 2023, she was awarded the inaugural Memcom Outstanding Contribution Award, for her work in championing the membership sector. Professor Irene-marié EsserProfessor Irene-marié Esser is Professor of Corporate Law and Governance at the University of Glasgow and a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. She serves as a Senior Advisor at the IoD’s Centre of Corporate Governance, and was the author and senior advisor to the IoD Commission on the Effectiveness of Non-Executive Directors.Her international expertise is significant: she is an Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and a Visiting Professor at the National Law University Jodhpur, India. She was also an External Consultant to the King IV and V Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa. She is a board member at the Centre for Corporate Governance in Africa and on the editorial board of the European Business Law Review. Megan PantelidesMegan Pantelides is a Senior Director at Board Intelligence, where she is responsible for research, content, communications and brand development. She writes about board effectiveness, corporate governance, AI, leadership, and organisational culture and her work has been featured in a wide range of international publications and podcasts including Management Today, Governance + Compliance, Dialogue Magazine, and the Financial Times. She is also a regular panellist, speaker, and commentator on these topics and supported the Institute of Directors' 2025 Commission, which was set up to examine the role of non-executive directors 20 years on from the Higgs Review.Megan joined Board Intelligence in 2018 and has held roles within the business development, customer, and marketing teams. As Market Director, she led teams serving Board Intelligence’s clients in the Private Equity and Trust &amp; Corporate Services sectors.Prior to joining Board Intelligence, Megan spent nine years at Skillcapital, an executive search and transaction advisory firm focused on the private equity market. As a Director in the Technology, Media &amp; Telecoms practice, she led assignments in Europe and North America, building boards and management teams for private equity-backed businesses and supporting private equity firms with deal origination and due diligence.Before joining Skillcapital, Megan worked in strategy consulting with L.E.K. Consulting, working on projects for corporate and private equity clients across a range of industries.Megan has an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge (Clare College).
