About the Host
This workshop is led by Sam Hobbs, an Artist Teacher working across secondary and museum education alongside her own studio practice. Fresh from completing her Fine Art MA, Sam exhibits in galleries and shows across the UK.
Her current interests include traditional textile banners, letterpress printing, and inventive collage techniques. She’s especially known for transforming old postage stamps, maps, and even broken clock cases into imaginative artworks.
Sam has a strong reputation for running creative, welcoming, and genuinely fun workshops. Recent events include collage sessions at Brighton Fishing Museum, Hove Museum of Creativity, and the University of Brighton’s Centre for Arts & Wellbeing.
Sam is exhibiting artworks in the Adur Art Trail 2026 June 6th-21st at both Brighton City Airport Whispering Gallery (Venue 12, open weekends & weekdays) and at The Hidden Gem (Venue 25, open weekends).

- Open to ages 16+
- Pre‑booking essential — limited spaces
- This event is for ticket holders only (not for accompanying children or pets)
- Parking at Brighton City Airport is pay‑and‑display; you may prefer to park nearby and walk to the venue
- Easy to reach: 15‑minute walk from the town centre; accessible by bus and train
- Food & drink: Two excellent cafés nearby -The Hummingbird in the terminal (opens 8am Saturdays) and Café No.8 on Cecil Pashley Way beside the airfield (opens 9.30am Saturdays)
- The Aiport is an Art Deco listed building - note that both the Avro Suite and the Whispering Gallery are on the first floor via stairs (no lifts at this venue)
