Overview

A friendly, hands-on workshop ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to knit

Ever wanted to learn how to knit but didn’t know where to start? Join us for a relaxed and friendly beginners workshop where you’ll learn the basics in a supportive, small-group setting.

This session is perfect for complete beginners – no previous experience needed. If you’ve never picked up knitting needles before, this is for you!

What you’ll learn:

  • How to hold knitting needles and yarn
  • Casting on
  • Basic stitches
  • How to recognise and correct simple mistakes
  • Casting off
  • Tips for practising at home

By the end of the session, you’ll have created your first knitted piece and gained the confidence to continue your knitting journey.

What’s included:

  • Knitting needles and yarn provided during the session
  • Step-by-step guidance from an experienced volunteer
  • A warm, welcoming atmosphere
  • Tea and coffee

If you already have knitting needles and some yarn you’d like to use, feel free to bring them along – but this isn’t essential.

Spaces are limited to ensure everyone gets individual support.
