The get started writing your book workshop helps you understand your own writing style, plan your book and create a roadmap to writing it!
You'll cover:
- Your writing style and how to tap into this
- Writing skills and where your strengths and gaps are
- What type of book you want to write and what's involved
- Different ways to structure you book
- Getting the right POV
- Different approaches and method for outlining and planning your book - including my quick and dirty book map tool
- Your roadmap to writing
The workshop is interactive with lots of discussion, and practical advice!
You can attend whether you have written something, or are just starting on your writing journey.
There are tools and techniques to use and some exercises to inspire you during the session, to make your book is the best it can be. So whether you've been thinking about writing a novel, or a memoir or anything in between - you'll leave with a roadmap of what your book is and how you might write it.

The workshop is run by best-selling author Angela Atkins. Angela has trained thousands of people over her career, and not only shares practical tools and techniques that are proven to work in the real-world, but is also passionate about making her training fun! If you're serious about being a writer or writing your book, then this workshop is essential.
About Angela Atkins: Angela has been writing since she was fourteen. She is the author of the best selling Management Bites - first published in 2009 by HarperCollinsNZ. She followed this with several sequels including Employment Bites, Training Bites and Safety Bites. Most recently she had published Writing Bites. This workshop is based on the content of this book, and her own experience.
She also writes fiction. Angela studied creative writing at Auckland University and her novel Britpop Summer came out in 2024.
Angela has trained thousands of people through her career, through her company Elephant Group, but she now wants to share her passion for writing and helping people on their writing journey.
Angela and her husband split their time between Seville, Bordeaux (France) and Leeds in the UK.
