About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

In this module we investigate what a successful onboarding (or induction) plan should look like in your organisation and why?

We will also discuss how often should you review progress. We cover the first day, the first week and what to include in the 'first 30 day' plan.

Many onboarding programmes fall short because they focus only on mandatory training. Preparing for a new hire to join the team can also be stressful and overwhelming for busy managers, but what if you didn't need to do it all yourself? In this module we will look at what new hires need to know and how to take a collaborative approach, including the whole team in developing the employee experience during the onboarding process.

This module is part of the 6 module 'conversation for managers' programme. However, each module can be taken in any order or independently if you just want this topic.

Getting onboard - is for any manager who is hiring or planning to hire and if you work in HR and you support line managers in your org that are recruiting, this would be useful for you too.

I look forward to working with you all.

Frequently asked questions

Is this just for new managers?

No, it is helpful for all people managers at all levels, especially if you are recruting now or thinking about doing that in the near future. It doesn't matter what level of management experience you have.

Do I need to attend all 6 modules?

No, each module is independent of the others and can be useful as a single training event if it gives you the knowledge that you need now! However, the 6 modules in the conversation programme are designed to cover all the conversations a manager needs throughout the employee lifecycle.

Organized by

The Conversation is a management development programme that is designed to help managers to confidently address issues around performance or conduct. What is unique is that it helps managers to plan "what" to say and when. We give practical, no nonsense tips and advice that enables people managers to develop their own communication style and a communication framework that works at every stage of the employee lifecycle.
