This training is part of a series on communicating research with impact. This training is open to all ESRC and non-ESRC funded PhD and MA Social Research students within the WRDTP’s seven partner universities. PGRs from all seven interdisciplinary Pathways are welcome to attend.This training session will provide a broad introduction to the world of academic publishing, to find out more about the ‘mechanics’ of publishing, and to get a sense of how editors make decisions. It will be led by Professor Fliss Matthews (WRDTP Director), and will draw on her decade of experience as an editor of a leading academic journal.The session will be of relevance to students from all disciplinary backgrounds, and will provide practical guidance about the things that you can do to improve your chances of success. It will also provide the space for honest reflection of the common challenges that are often faced by authors – no matter their career stage.
