Getting Started Online from the Methodist Church is a course designed for beginners, to help churches and communities understand online tools and platforms as a place for mission.The digital world is a mission-field like any other but can often feel too fast paced and overwhelming. Each week we will help you to Get started Online by watching 3 short videos on various online topics and move into breakout rooms to share and discuss our learning and experiences.We start on Monday 4th November and meet every Monday for the following 4 weeks - 5 Monday sessions in all.Nov 4• The Digital human.• Why claim our space online?• Who are we online?Nov 11• Introduction to social media.• Doing Digital Evangelism.• Who should we be talking to?Nov 18• Developing a Digital Strategy.• Encouraging engagement – comments, likes, shares and follows.• Doing a few things wellNov 25• Scheduling – building a content plan• Community verses content.• Engagement and analytics - taking note of what’s going onDec 2• Roles and responsibilities – building a digital team• Branding, visual identity and design.• Policies – building a safe place online Facilitated by: Fiona Fidgin, Digital Communications Officer Jenna Thorne, Learning and Development Officer.
