Getting started with AI chatbots

This course would suit people who have little or no experience of AI chatbots, as well as those who feel under-confident and would like a supportive introduction to using them.

No prior experience is needed, and under-confident beginners are welcome. Learners will need to be able to open a computer web browser and have access to a working email account.

You will learn how to navigate and use a variety of common AI chatbots with greater confidence. The course will introduce basic settings, privacy considerations, cautions and limitations, as well as giving you a basic understanding of ethical and moral issues linked to AI use.

You will also learn how to ask clear, effective questions to get useful outputs, while building confidence in using AI for low-stakes, low-risk everyday tasks.

The course will run on Tuesday 22 September 2026 at Stowmarket Innovation Gateway, Gateway 14, Stowmarket.
