Greener Kirkcaldy's Lang Spoon Community Kitchen holds classes all year round where you can learn about different cooking methods and world cuisines. 

The money we make from these classes go back into the local community through our other food projects.

Imagine taking your own freshly baked bread out of the oven – the smell, the taste and the satisfaction of having made it yourself using only a few ingredients – flour, water, yeast and salt. On our fun and informative bread making workshop you’ll learn basic recipes to bake your own loaves at home. We’ll look at the ingredients and techniques; the different grains that make a variety of flours and how they can be used; dried and fresh yeasts; and the alchemy that goes into producing your daily loaf. There will be time to discuss, taste and compare notes too. In this extended, 4-hour workshop you will be making from scratch: <ul><li>A wholemeal loaf - using locally grown wholemeal flour from Fife</li><li>A classic white loaf - with the opportunity to add various add textures and flavourings like herbs and seeds. </li><li>Pittas/flatbreads – quick and easy breads that use no or small amounts of yeasts or other raising agents. </li></ul>You’ll leave inspired and ready to start making your own great tasting bread. The course is suitable for beginners. This is a hands-on cooking class with lots of hand kneading. All dishes made can be taken away and enjoyed at home.This workshop will be led by Jackie Vural, an enthusiastic cook of many cuisines with a passion for breadmaking. Jackie has worked with Greener Kirkcaldy and loves sharing her skills. Please bring some containers and bags to take home your breads. AccessibilityThere are accessible parking bays available outside 8 East Fergus Place with a ramp into the building and level access throughout. There is also an accessible toilet.
