3-hour online workshop to get started using Grid 3, our flagship AAC software on Windows. Learn how Grid helps disabled people communicate
In this three-hour online training, we'll explore how to get set up with Grid 3 for Windows and the basics of using symbol and text AAC. This workshop is designed for beginners so no prior knowledge is needed.
You'll take a tour of settings and the main text and symbol vocabularies available in Grid, learn basic editing and get an overview of accessible apps.
This workshop will not include Grid for iPad, and you will need to download a free trial of Grid 3 to take part (further information below).

What do I need to take part?
- A Windows laptop that can run Grid 3 (you cannot take part using Grid for iPad)
- A headset if you are in a room with other people
- The free trial of Grid 3: download here
- Set up a User in Grid 3: find out how here
It is important that you have Grid installed and working prior to the session. Please do this in advance, allowing enough time to contact our support team if you encounter any issues.

Do I need any prior knowledge of Grid to attend? No prior knowledge required - the workshop is designed for beginners.
What time is the workshop taking place? The workshop starts at 3pm BST / 9AM CT / 10am ET. The workshop takes three hours to complete, finishing at approximately 6pm BST / 12pm CT / 1pm ET. The
Does the day include a free training copy of Grid? No, our online training does not include a Grid 3 licence.
Will there be breaks? Yes, we will build in comfort breaks throughout the session to allow you to get a drink and take a break from the screen..
How will I receive joining instructions? Joining instructions, including a link to Microsoft Teams will be sent to you automatically through Eventbrite seven days before the workshop is due to take place. If you have registered with less than seven days to go until the workshop, you will be sent the joining instructions again 24-hours in advance, and a reminder will be sent 30-minutes in advance.

What happens if I can't make it? Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for any reason so we can fill your place.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend the event? Yes, we understand that unexpected situations may arise. If you cannot attend the workshop you purchased a ticket for, you can request a refund with 48-hours notice. Refunds are not provided without prior notice.

What is the deadline for transferring my ticket to another event? To be eligible for ticket transfer, please make the request at least 48 hours before the start time of the event you initially registered for.
