Ginger/Chamomile Compress Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
At this time of year, a ginger compress warms and relaxes muscles to release tightness in the kidney area, particularly good if you experience lower back pain. Chamomile is opening and relaxing for the liver. Feel your tension melt away with any compress.
Here are details of what you need to have for this event. These details will also be emailed to you on booking.
What you Need
Fresh ginger (about a 4-8cm long piece), scrubbed and finely grated into small bowl OR 8g dried chamomile per person
Comfortable, warm and quiet place to lie down, small blanket
Two large towels
Two small hand towels (about 75cm long; old is best). These may get stained in the ginger water
Muslin or cotton square (about 20x20cm) and elastic band
Large pan containing 1 litre filtered water, heated
Wooden spoon
Note: Ginger is excellent for a stiff back and kidneys and for releasing muscle tension. Chamomile is relaxing and opening for the liver. Choose one of these options. If the recipient has cancer or is pregnant (or may be pregnant) we advise using water only for the compress.
You may also wish to put on some relaxing music during the relaxation part of this workshop.
