Welcome to Freshwalks. This mountain valley day hike forms part of our wider Helvellyn & Ullswater tour event and has been selected for tour guests who fancy an easier day in the mountains than our challenging Helvellyn experience. Timings should also work better for anyone who fancies heading up to the Lakes and back inside the day.

Route description

We plan to start and finish this walk outside the Traveller's Rest public house, Glenridding.

Our route initially heads up the Glenridding valley towards our tour base at Almond Lodge Bunkhouse before looping back to explore the Grisedale valley. Though never heading too high up the mountain sides, the route still offers good views down Glenridding to Ullswater and up Grisedale to Helvellyn, Nethermost Pike and Dollywaggon Pike. There will still be some rough terrain underfoot with large boulders in places but this route offers an inclusive and easier Thursday option.

A full information pack will be sent out a couple of weeks before the hike with full kit list but you'll need to bring plenty of drinking water and a packed lunch. Please wear sturdy walking boots with good ankle support and take a layered approach to clothing including waterproofs.

What's the refund policy?

You can self-manage a refund (minus platform fees) with 7 days notice via the Eventbrite app. We'll transfer your place to a similar future event given 24 hours notice.
