Glug LA - Launch event!

Glug HQ with the help of ICHI Worldwide and The Mill LA, present the launch of #GlugLA the first in a series of engaging, energetic and inspiring talks for the design and creative community. All hosted in a friendly after work atmosphere at WeWork La Brea.
We are kicking off with an all-star line up of speakers including:
Two Bit Circus (a creative engineering company), Light Sail VR (an immersive cinema production company specializing in VR) and Starbeast (a multi-disciplinary storytelling company).

Two Bit Circus - Lou Pizante
Lou Pizante is CFO and Head of Corporate Development at Two Bit Circus. When he is not quashing robot uprisings or risk-managing accidental violations of physics and occasional eyebrow injuries, he is supporting all aspects of the Circus troupe’s endeavors to amaze people and get them playing/interacting in meaningful ways.
He is also a partner at Collective Studios (a profit and purpose venture studio), Cobble Hill Partners (a boutique venture firm) and is on the board or is officer to several other awesome companies. Prior to all this, Lou was CFO at GOOD (the “designy” social impact standard-bearer) and CEO of Mavent Inc (a fintech trailblazer that was sold to a public company). Other previous positions include Greenwich Capital Markets, Nomura Securities, Goldman Sachs & Co. and Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Lou serves on a number of non-profit boards promoting a diversity of interests, including early-childhood education, the arts and music, STEM education and vocational training to “at risk” youth.
Light Sail VR - Matthew Celia
Matthew is a skilled filmmaker with an eye towards telling authentic stories. He’s spent the last 10 years in the industry producing, directing, shooting, and editing a variety of narrative and nonfiction projects for Warner Bros. Chevrolet, NBC, Unilever, and others.
His interest with Virtual Reality began he was in grade school by modeling Shakespeare’s Globe theater in a 3D Quicktime VR interactive experience. He brings his technical expertise, entrepreneurial attitude, and creative spirit to each job he works on.
Starbeast - Nick Losq
Nick found his calling early on, growing up a comic book and film enthusiast and accomplished illustrator. After pursuing formal education at UCLA, he started working as a designer and 3D artist at Los Angeles based VFX/Design studios Motion Theory and MPC in their nascent years. While at these companies he developed into a creative director and director, working on campaigns for clients including Budweiser, Nike, Xbox, Sony, Acura, Guinness, HP and more. Nick’s unique brand of storytelling Shortlisted his work for Cannes’ Young Director award in 2012 for his short film “Metamorphosis,”created for Conrad Hotels. With expertise spanning live action direction, design, and animation Nick continually pushes the boundaries of physical and digital techniques to create a cohesive vision that stands out and draws audiences in. Nick currently runs and operates Starbeast Digital, a production studio that focuses on creating unique and multi-platfrom media for advertising.

Glug is a series of events for the design and creative community. Our showcase event is held in London but there are now 10 other events around the world.
Based around a series of talks and informal networking, Glug has become one of the most exciting, credible and well attended creative events around.
Established in 2006, it’s an eclectic mix of people from all creative walks of life; from digital design, illustration, advertising, cutting edge creative technology through to fashion and architecture. 11 years later it’s now a regular global event with over 10,000 signed-up members on MeetUp.
Over this time we’ve had great talks, film preview, live art, installations and exhibitions from the likes of Airside, Anthony Burrill, Baiyon, Dixon Baxi, I Love Dust, Jason Bruges Studio, Mainframe, Marc Kremers, Noma Bar and Why Not Associates. Alongside these regular Glugs, we’ve also run events in conjunction with Arts & Business, D&AD, DAHRA, GameCity and Pick Me Up.
