The Broken Spoke Bike Co-op is a DIY (do-it-yourself) bicycle workshop that teaches people of all ages and backgrounds how to ride and repair bicycles. We are creating a culture of cycling in Oxfordshire - come along for the ride!

This one is all about the transmission, the bits of the bike that are essential to making it move forwards when you turn your pedals (OK, we know that lots of parts could be included in this category, but humour us.) We’ll explore how rear-wheel-drive bikes work and delve into the world of chains, cassette and freewheel sprockets, chainsets and bottom brackets. Get ready to get on your bike and GO!
"Go!' is part of our ground-breaking new four-part mechanics course. Taken together the modules cover all the essentials of how bikes work, and make up a holistic & comprehensive education for the budding bike mechanic.  
Anyone can take this course, however experienced or fresh-faced you think you are; it's about the depth of insight you want to get to, not where you're at before you begin.

Broken Spoke Bike Co-op reserves the right to refuse admission.
Persons under 18 years of age: People younger than 18 are very welcome in the workshop, as long as they are at all times accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If the parent/guardian wishes to participate in the course, they must also book a place. 
Refunds policy: If you cannot attend the course you've booked, please let us know in writing at least 5 working days before the course is due to start. We can then either refund you the full course fee, or give you a place on a future course - whichever you prefer.  Please note that we cannot refund your ticket if you cancel within 5 working days of a course's start date. 
Cancellations by BSBC: If for whatever reason we have to cancel the course, we'll let you know by email, and we'll either refund you the full course fee or give you a place on a future course - whichever you prefer! 
Safer Spaces policy: Broken Spoke Bike Co-op is an inclusive community, we celebrate diversity and our workshop is a place where people respect each other. The workshop is not a place for offensive language or behaviour - including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, violence or threats of violence, etc. - and anyone engaging in such behaviours will be asked to leave (and not given a refund!)
