Route description
Starting from the charming Old Smithy in the heart of Godshill, this 6km circular walk captures the very essence of the Isle of Wight’s countryside. Meandering along the peaceful Stenbury Trail, you’ll skirt open fields and ancient hedgerows en route to the historic Great Budbridge Manor. The return leg follows a disused railway line, now a tranquil green corridor rich with wildflowers and birdsong. Godshill’s famed thatched cottages and quaint tearooms make for a perfect start and finish, while the medieval church perched high above the village offers unforgettable views. Mostly flat and easy-going, this route is as scenic as it is relaxing.
